Tusk: 2" White Conch, Coral, Turquoise & Brass Pendant, 1 pieceWoman Shops World
Perfectly bohemian in style, these tribal beauties are handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal. They are made from natural white conch shell that has been inlaid with chips of red coral and turquoise, and have a decorative Brass cap and bail at the top. The workmanship on these is fabulous.
Conch shells are believed to be auspicious in both Buddhist and Hindu cultures. In Hindu Mythology, Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth, was believed to have used a White Conch Shell as her abode. The white Conch comes from the Indian Ocean. In its full form, the Conch shell is used during times of prayer, and as a votive to keep away dangers of the sea. Due to its interior spiraling feminine form, it also represents female fertility. It is often used in traditional Indian and Nepali jewelry.
Listing is for 1 pendant. As each pendant is handmade from natural Conch shells, size will vary.
Pendants measures from 1 3/4" to 2 1/2" long x approximately 3/8" to 7/16" wide.
The decorateive Pendant bail is about 5mm wide, large enough for a leather or other type of cord.
A portion of all WSW sales will be donated to The Compassion Collective, which works to feed, clothe, shelter, and save our refugee and homeless sisters, brothers, and children in the US and worldwide.
