These beautiful handmade beads are made from cured Olive Wood, which is a beautiful natural light weight wood. Hailing from Afghanistan, Olive Wood is a common type of bead used to make Malas. Normally you will find brown laminated Olive Wood; these beads are exemplary because each bead on these strands is cut and turned by hand from a solid piece of wood, so they have a consistent look and a great natural feel.
These strands have been dyed a beautiful deep blue with hints of teal, using all natural dyes. They are color-fast. These beads would make beautiful spacers in earthy-girl jewelry.
This strand is around 12" long.
Individual Olive Wood beads measure approximately 5x3mm.
Hole measures approximately 1mm, so they are perfect for using on twine or elastic.
There are approximately 100+ beads per strand.
As many of my products come from Nepal, a portion of my proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Nepal Earthquake Relief.
