The Buddhist Dorje symbol that is on one counter, symbolizes compassion. The bell on the other counter symbolizes the wisdom that realizes the emptiness. Both are needed to attain enlightenment.

Each counter has 9 counter beads. The counter beads ares strung on a black looped cord, that you can loop and tie onto things. The tassels at the bottom are an earthy brown.
