Fringe & Beads Tuareg Goat Leather Tassel
These fringed clusters are a fabulous new take on the typical Tuareg tassels. These little bundles come from the Tuareg of Niger. Soft Goat leather has been dyed and cut into strips and wrapped into this juju of a bundle, complete with nickel and copper rings, and fringe and beads at the bottom. These would be fabulous as keychains, pendants, purse charms, and as various other forms of decoration.
They measure approximately 5" from top to bottom, with a 3/8" loop at the top. They would easily slide on a large leather or other cord, or a keyring.
****The designs and color patterns may vary slightly, but they all look more or less like one of ones shown here. The leather may be red, black, or brown, the colors of beads may vary, as well as the threads, but the overall look will be the same.*****
Fringe is important for many reasons in the Tuareg culture. The more abundant the fringe on a person, the more status he or she is said to hold.
Listing is for 1 tassel.
