These beautiful handmade beads are made from cured Olive Wood, which is a beautiful natural light weight wood. Hailing from Afghanistan, Olive Wood is a common type of bead used to make Malas. Normally you will find brown laminated Olive Wood; these beads are exemplary because each bead on these strands is cut and turned by hand from a solid piece of wood, so they have a consistent look and a great natural feel.
These strands have been dyed an earthy shade of sandstone, using all natural dyes. These beads show the grain of the wood and have some darker brown areas, giving them a great natural feel very similar to actual sandstone. They are color-fast. These beads would make beautiful spacers in earthy-girl jewelry.
16+/-" long strand, individual Olive Wood beads measure approximately 3.5x3mm each.
Hole measures approximately .5mm, so they are perfect for using on elastic.
There are approximately 140+ beads per strand.
