Looking for something to pair with your blue jeans? These carved blue bone spacer beads have a perfect blue hue. They are a great size for using as spacer beads in bracelets and necklaces. Made in India from cow bone (for more information on the source of the bone, read below), each bead is made by hand from start to finish.
The coloring on these is not completely saturated, so they have light-blue, almost white areas on them. This makes the blue color really POP, and gives them great visual texture.
Bead Size: 8x7mm
Hole Size: 2mm
Approximate Number of beads: 30
Strand Length: 8.5"
These have a nice slightly-larger hole on them (approximately 1.5-2mm), so they would work on smaller cord or twine, and are perfect for using on 1mm elastic for stretch bracelets.
Curious to know about the source of the bone?
In India and Nepal, not much is wasted. So instead of just eating the meat of an animal, every part of the animal is used: bones for things like beads, hides/hair for clothing and accessories and talismans, and the meat is consumed.
The making of these beads and pendants provides a livelihood for families in remote villages in Nepal and India, which we are honored to support and share with you.
A portion of all WSW sales will be donated to The Compassion Collective, which works to feed, clothe, shelter, and save our refugee and homeless sisters, brothers, and children in the US and worldwide.
