This is a beautiful striped strand of vintage Vinyl Record Beads! The vibrant shades of red and green, accentuated with neon pink, remind me of Christmas. These fabulous beads are made in Africa from Vulcanite, a material that was used to make vinyl records. They are known as Vinyl Record Beads, since they are made from the same material. Natively, they are called "jigida beads," which is a really fun name to say!
Bead Size: Approx. 10x.5mm
Hole Size: 1mm
Strand Length: 30"
Color: Red, Green, Pink
These beads hail from Mali, where women wear them around their waist, to help them hold their shape. These beads are beautiful colors, perfect for pairing with brights or darker shades! These heishi beads would be perfect to wear as/is or layered with other necklaces. You could also break it apart to create some boho magic of your own!
It is getting harder and harder to find these strands in good colors like this one, and especially this large. There are HUNDREDS of beads on this 30"+/- strand.
So perfect with the current TRIBAL fashion trends.
These are strung into a loop, which is how they are traditionally sold in Africa.
